Bali Entry Preparation: Visa, Arrival Declaration and Tourist Levy

Three different tasks are often mixed up: permission to enter Indonesia, the arrival declaration and Bali’s foreign tourist levy. Completing one does not mean the others are complete.

Check eligibility before choosing VOA

Nationality, passport type, trip purpose and length of stay matter. Check each traveller separately. The Immigration visa guide lists B1 VOA for eligible visitors with an initial stay of up to 30 days and a fee of IDR 500,000. It is not available for every nationality or activity.

Check passport validity, onward-ticket requirements and extension conditions there too. Count permitted days, not hotel nights, and record your final authorised stay date. Start online applications at the official e-Visa portal.

Complete the arrival declaration

All Indonesia is the official arrival-declaration service. Immigration’s published guidance says submission is free and can begin three days before arrival. Have your passport, flight and accommodation address ready. Save the completion information for offline access.

Check the separate Bali levy

The Love Bali FAQ lists IDR 150,000 per person for foreign tourists who are subject to the levy. Check exemptions and re-entry rules against your circumstances. Keep its payment evidence separate from your visa and arrival declaration.

Before departure
