There is no single best month for every Canggu trip. Someone wanting outdoor activities every day has different priorities from someone who mainly wants rest and good meals.
Treat seasons as patterns
The middle of the year generally corresponds to Bali’s dry season, but onset and rainfall vary. Check BMKG’s seasonal outlook and the Bali climate station for your travel year. Dry season does not mean no rain; rainy season does not mean continuous rain all day.
For a beach-focused trip
Leave room to move activities between days and read operators’ weather policies. Sunny skies do not guarantee suitable waves or tides. Swimming and surfing decisions need current local guidance, not just a season label.
For a rest-focused trip
Room comfort and access to meals may matter more than a perfect outdoor forecast. Check where you would eat in rain and whether outdoor facilities fit your expectations. Villa Rumah Wayan’s pool and garden are shared outdoor spaces. Use the rainy-day guide to imagine a slower day.
Compare real dates and prices
Shoulder months are not guaranteed to be cheaper or quieter. Holidays, events and flights can change demand. Compare two or three possible weeks using the same guest count, room arrangement and cancellation conditions.
Rank your priorities
Consider weather preference, total cost, flexibility and comfort while staying in. The right dates are the ones that balance those priorities for your trip, not a month advertised as perfect.
